Re: Minimum requirements
Sadly AMD seems to be on its last leg in the CPU arena so I would no longer recommend one of those. As the others have said: Ivy Bridge or Haswell i5 (3000-4000 series); i7 is optional. Only diff is i7 has HyperThreading which shows gains in certain apps; check benchmarks for the apps you will yews ...

Re: Class Binds
Unfortunately I think the mod would have to be recompiled for Mac in order to work. If you want I can send you my entire script system as a .zip or something. It's quite extensive and I have custom binds for Hoth/Kor/Des/Cargo.

Re: steam, game uninstalling
Uninstall is usually close to instant. But I had it freeze the other day. Kill the process/restart and try again.

Battlefront 3
Apparently this was announced last week but I was too busy working to notice. http://battlefront3.net/2013/06/star-wars-battlefront-what-we-know-so-far/ tl;dr DICE LA is making Battlefront 3, but "it won't be Star Wars Battlefield", though it will be based on Frostbite 3 (Battlefield 4 eng...

Re: computer crashing
If it works for some time and then crashes, I would suspect a heat problem. Pay attention to fan noise while you're playing. yews a program to check your temperatures. chewie Monitor and GPU-Z work for most things; for AMD CPUs, yews AMD Overdrive or the motherboard utility; for Intel CPUs, yews Cor...

Re: New PC specs
I hate Microsoft's activation scheme. Between that and UEFI it took 3 days to get an OS installed and activated... but it's good now. Good call on my sig; other than tweaks to the voltage, the stable overclock is exactly what I predicted*. See below. Max CPU test, Windows boot only: http://i21.photo...

Re: New PC specs
Pulled up literally as the Fedex truck was pulling up, so that's how I got the case finally. Issues booting Linux with a UEFI mobo... TBD. The first practical Steamrollers will be in the APU form ("Kaveri"), probably 28nm with GCN architecture graphics on chip. Remains to be seen if these ...

Re: New PC specs
Apt office received 2 of the 3 packages but has missed the case 2 days in a row :?:  . Everything seems to be working on the table top, at least at stock. It's electrically functional and since I'm an EE not an ME, that's good enough to roll out the new sig (overclock anticipated, not actual)....
