Yea, it doesn't work for all of them, it depends on the type of copy-protect shit they yews on the CD. Can't you just get another internal CD drive? Or is it on a laptop? (those can actually be easy to replace too)

Hmmm, ETQW shouldn't have any CD protection.

You don't need the CD to play the game. You MUST BE LOGGED IN with a valid serial number.

or buy it on steam.. 20 USD. Getting a new CD/DVD drive might be more effective tho :/ it's usually 30-40 USD for a good CD/DVD-RW drive.

i already bought it for about £2 or something, then i discovered that the cd drive is broken.

my mate recently rebuilt his computer in a new case and i think he's getting a new cd drive so he'll probably let me have his old one, for either free or like £5.

Just try copying the contents of the CD rather than making an ISO.

(Make sure you get hidden/system files.)

Worth a shot.

I'll probably try in a couple of weeks after my mechanics exam, I could do without another distraction.

Steam has changed my life. I have always hated game CDs. Even ISOs I consider a pain in the ass.
