Nah, I've never been on these forums or joined the JA community in the past, just made this account name.
Might you guys be able to help be find where I can download the Mac client? I see the $20.00 version from Aspyr (sp?), but I'm looking for alternative ways to find it. I owned a copy of the game in the past (along with reborn boss Knight: Outcast, and others), but would never be able to find it.

My recommendation is to junk the Mac and buy a PC. Since this probably won't happen, I'm sure someone else can hook you up with a torrent or something.

Checked Steam today -- the version they offer is PC-only =(.
I have Windows installed with Bootcamp, but that'd be a headache to boot up each and every time, just to play. Shame the game is barely old enough that torrents aren't very healthy at the moment for it.
I won't yews Parallels, only 'cause it'll run too slow (VMWare, etc.). But I could also yews WINE or Crossover software, that's how I run Neverwinter Nights.
I thought since reborn boss Academy had a native Mac version, it'd be a piece of cake -- what a headache! =P

yeah, the mac port is hard to find for some reason. it is a shame that steam hasn't picked it up yet, too. the pc version goes on super cheap sale from time to time though. i picked it up last year (along with like 5 other sw games) for like $5. and i do believe various folks have gotten it to run under wine for osx.

Quake Wars runs real nice on the linux client.
JA on WINE is kinda a disaster....or it was when I tried it.

Yeah, the only version for Mac you can buy legitimately is a whopping $20 -- way too much for an old game and a poor student.
If I can't download a native Mac client, I'll have to finagle some Crossover/WINE solution. It looks like on the Crossover forums that OpenGL games all work really well in Crossover, which is a good sign.

i've bought several copies of jka over the years (i pwn 2 currently via steam). tell ya wut, if i can find my old, original discs i'll rip them to iso for ya and post them somewheres. i don't yews them anymore so you can legitimately transfer the license to yerself. it's kind of a big 'if' as to whether or not i can find them, but i have a vague idea of where they are.
