double post cuz i'm boss of this gym.
admin zombies and callvote zombies (passing) will set the siege time limit to 1 hour, regardless of which team has the time limit (i.e this SHOULD work on any map, but I only tested it on hoth).

i can still spec join after death on tempest. do you mean you only cant spec join if you self kill? because i cant get shot by a turret, squashed by an ATST or killed by another player and still spec join

This mod isn't on tempest, just impulse.
A future version might go up on tempest, but I'd need to iron out a few anti-lames and anti-crashes that aren't really prevalent in a pug server (I only fixed ones that might happen on accident).

I just tested the zombie votes today, and everything seemed to work out fine. I'm sure we'll all do more extensive testing sometime later this week, maybe this weekend.
