In a way, yes. At least in terms of the mapmaker deriving their pleasure only from seeing the maps played. Would still like to at least mess around on some of them just for the hell of it every so often. Tie test was a solid map, I had some fun games there (Though it is too big for 2's/3's, and thus somewhat unplayable currently).
Personally I enjoy the structure of playing a map that I (And others) know really well. I think it adds to the "competitive feel" of the match. Not to mention the fact that getting a game going is difficult at this point, and so to have to go through the process of simply familiarizing oneself with a new map means less playtime.
A updated maps page would be awesome.

Lazy fuckers. I come on bored as hell tonight. See a post about mapping in the populars thinking "oh god more rage" am pleasantly surprised that it was Laser being oddly cool like usual. See a shitton of new maps that I now have to go play and find exploits in. BUT THERE'S NO ACTUAL EASY WAY TO FIND THEM. FUCK YOU GUYS. I FOUND THREE OF THEM. I THINK THEY ARE THE NEWER ONES.
