Back when ATI used to actually make their own cards they were pretty solid.
I do have to give props to evga though, I have truly had an amazing experience with them with all their products (gfx card, motherboard, etc)

I would dare say you probably had shitty circulation/cooling through your computer if that was the case =/. But maybe not, who knows. I guess there is always bound to be some people who have a shitty experience with any brand.

This was not the case, my computer did not run hot.
