Hey guys, another rule proposal,

In keeping with the tradition of seeing everyone's opinion before amending the rules of either server, I would be interested in your take on spec join.

This was also brought up in light of this thread: http://www.jkasiege.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=236

It is already kind of an unwritten rule not to do in pugs and such. Should we enforce this in Tempest? Things that would be against this rule include:
-Joining spec upon dying and re-entering the game within seconds
-Joining spec then joining a team to stop someone from waiting for spawn or another critical point


Things that I propose to be ok:
-If you pick the wrong class, specjoin to change it assuming you weren't jan or something and placed a shield.
-If you legitimately joined spec to go afk, then later on happen to join the game at a critical point (would be up to admins to yews discretion)


Any other ideas or comments on this? Or something I forgot to address as far as the applicability of specjoining?

I can see why this would be a good idea, but keep in mind it is a public server, not a pickup game server. The purpose of the game is to chill and have fun, and I do not believe that this is in anyway negatively affected by someone joining spec and back because you were clever enough to catch them at their spawn.

i guess u wouldnt like if some1 does what u did today dude, the situation is similar that when some1 lift lames when a enemy is coming get it, u dont let him do obj

Tbh i say no for Tempest just because my personally go to spec for a couple of minutes and rejoin just so I don't sit as an afk on an active team. just my two cents

You know it's JKA when a topic about joining spec turns into a childish flamewar about admin abuse. This is exactly why I stopped playing JKA two years ago...
