So tell me this guys.

1. I want you to stop being so trigger happy with admin, and let Impulse remain a democracy...as opposed to the way it is now, being an admin warzone half the time, and run by one admin's whim the rest of the time.

2. Many of you feel your admin was taken away unjustly, or feel you deserve it back.

What solution do you propose such that all or most parties are satisfied? How can everyone get what they want here?

It could be done with a three strike policy. One strike, admin lost for a month. Second, two months. Third, gone forever.

A bit of work involved, I suppose, but at least there's something static to punish the abusers with if it does come to that. The problem is that we tend to have a socially retarded manner of treating each other in this game, one where abuse is the norm. It leads to the sort of rubbish that is all over these forums and throughout most of the games that get played. The dumb arguments, the whiny raging, the people who are constantly fighting whilst playing the inane game of one-upmanship and a strict policy of retaliation for anything that goes wrong; they're all instilled well and truly amongst this community. It makes for some really bad admins.

I think the system is fine. They fucked up, they should have to deal with breaking the rules.

@Laser, those were all things I said post-kick on the forums retard. You couldn't have preemptively kicked me knowing I would say shit about you on the boards. Also, I love the part about going into a hole and dying. Someone is mad.

It would probably be a good idea to write up a condensed post reminding the abusers of the importance of using admin conservatively rather than liberally on Impulse, and the importance of, whether they have admin or not, using votes as much as possible rather than admin commands. And also what Impulse admin is NOT to be used for. Then insist that they read it and afirm that they've read it and understand they'll lose admin permanently if they do not comply, BEFORE giving them the pass. Just an idea. Oh, and if they refuse to concede that forceteammaxing for spam, /map abuse, and ragekick/etcing are NOT acceptable, they shouldn't get the pass. A lot of the problem here is people feeling that because they have admin, they have an unrestricted right to make up and act as judge/jury/executioner on, thier own rules, without really considering whether the server owner will agree.

I think the problem with this sort of zero-tolerance policy is that it's very tempting not to remove their admin and let them off the hook because of mitigating factors. If you only have to remove it for one month and other offences make it progressively worse for the offender, it staves off potential objections and places the onus of responsibility for the eventual removal on the person who abused the admin rights they were given. It also gives a good alternative to punish smaller offences if they do occur. Another factor is that taking it away so quickly might lead to it being given back just as fast (person pleads, says they'll do better this time). Three strikes, again, it's only themselves they have to blame and arguing against that is fairly hard to do. One month isn't the shortest period of time and it could possibly be extended to 3 months, 6 months, indefinite if it wasn't deemed harsh enough.

A nub is In Ur Forum wrote: EDIT: Added recommended level for Raptor, in case Guard wants to try that. Could be a good idea, IMO.
I could be some crazy, ban happy admin! Oh wait, I'd just fit right in.

lol... It's not that I don't want to play, it's just that I'm too busy with other stuff right now. I've been itching for a game for awhile now. :(

I don't think simply having rcon would persuade raptor to play again and probably not tensor.
(Unless he really is boycotting the server because of losing rcon...which would be lol)

If dudes refuse to play without rcon then we probably don't want them anyway.
