Both servers are down
Re: Both servers are down
I don't understand all the hate toward homos. They're just gay.

It's the same with scalies, herpetephiles, furries, and any other sexual 'deviants'. Trust me.

Re: Both servers are down
Furries are awful. I don't really feel like explaining why, but suffice it to say one of my RL friends got into that shit and it had a very large negative impact on his life (went from an A student to failing more than half of his classes... consistently. Went from keeping a job for 5+ years to getting fired and unable to keep another job for more than 3 months at a time, etc). It's worse than fucking drugs.

Not that I don't agree that it's fucking weird. But that logic is retarded.
That's like me saying,
Playing pinball/fishing/being straight/owning a pet/donating to charity is awful. Re: Both servers are down
Yeah, you're right. Someone who lead a relatively normal life with expected measures of success suddenly started participating in an activity, upon which his life turned into a miserable failure. It's entirely inappropriate to label such an activity as "awful."
I don't know a single person who's gone from a straight a student with a steady job of half a fucking decade who's gone to a straight f student unable to keep a job because of owning a pet or donating to charity. That's a stupid fucking parallel to draw.
But since you need some clarification, I'll explain. The kid stopped studying and doing homework so he could spend all night looking at his creepy fucking dog porn and posting in internet dog porn communities while archiving every single picture from his favorite dog porn artists. He almost got suspended from school (back when we were still in highschool, when all of this started) because he kept setting his school computer's desktop to creepy softcore dog porn pictures, and he walked around with dog porn on his PDA and kept showing it to female co-workers, which got him fired from his job, and the three subsequent jobs he got in whatever period of time (it's been a while).
He alienated himself from most of his friends because of his creepy dog porn shit. Myself only having spoken to him maybe a dozen times in half as many years, all I know is that he very much struggled to get his 2 year degree in 4 years from a community college. Prior to his dog porn viewing tendencies developing, he literally got ONLY a's.
I think that's a pretty drastic difference in his life. I mean, it's not like I'd known him for 12 years prior to him getting into the shit or anything, so maybe I'm not an appropriate judge of character.

Many aren't that bad, although I'll admit I've had a lot more experience with the scaly subset of them, dunno if that makes a difference. Sounds like your freind got way over-obsessed with it. It's only bad when you let it get bad. Know from experience. There's a buch more of us out there that don't let it get in the way of life, as your freind seems to has allowed. My scaly buds and I have had some long conversations about how stupid people like him are, some of them hate them for the bad name they give to the rest of us. You can't let that stuff interrupt the flow of your life, especially to that extent. A number of us (myself included) have gone through a phase like that, but we came to terms with it, realized we were screwing ourselves over, so we fixed our problem/addiction. I've rubbed elbows with an interesting array of scalies ranging from other biologists to musicians, physicists to buisiness people. And we all have pretty normal lives, compared to what many may think.
For the record though, I had my own furry problem, which I thankfully killed off. They scare me, especially the fursuiters.

Re: Both servers are down
pinball/fishing/being straight/owning a pet could all be turned into something equally obsessed over.
case in point.

I would imagine there are other things than furry loving that have ruined lives just as drastically or worse.
Off the top of my head, I would be sure that video games, actual drugs, or gambling have done so to far more people than furryism.
Anything that is addicting runs the risk of taking over someone's life.
