American foreign policy is nothing if not exploitative of other countries. There's a lot of problems with how we do things, we won't change as long as we stay comfortable and satisfied with the way things are. But making change isn't easy and there's no sure fire way to do it.

Who keeps buying the shit that the corporate US exploits other countries to get? We're all at fault, and until we change our ways and habits, we can't even hope to change what the corporations do. How about let's stop buying shit from China? Pretty sure they'd close the plants in China, and bring our jobs back to the mainland where they belong.

Even if our jobs come back to the mainland, they'll just bring in more H1Visa guys to the USA, and people will watch their jobs get taken away on their own soil...there's always someone who will work for less. Whether you go to them or bring them to you, there's no stopping globalization IMO. (I admit that last point is certainly debatable)

I did a report on Chile when I was in fifth grade, and have wanted to visit ever since. It's probably in my top 3 with New Zealand and Russia.

That's true, but I would think they only hire people with visas on a mass scale if it's a profession that not enough people go into. And visas are actually getting harder and harder to obtain, these days...
